Overview #
The Norwegian Statistics Agent runs in Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365 Copilot and is designed to help users locate and import tables from Statistics Norway (SSB) without leaving the conversation flow.
According to the upstream documentation, the agent may require Microsoft 365 Copilot access or Azure pay-as-you-go resources. Users are responsible for obtaining any required Microsoft licenses before use, and the current documented language for the agent is English.
The product documentation focuses on a practical workflow: search SSB tables by topic or keywords, inspect the parameters and available values for a selected table, then request an import with parameter filters so the results can be returned directly inside chat.

Get Started #
This guide explains how the Norwegian Statistics Agent operates within Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365 Copilot to help you locate and import tables from Statistics Norway (SSB).
Choose the agent in Teams or in Microsoft 365 Copilot.
Ask to search tables by topic or keywords. The agent queries SSB PX-Web endpoints and returns matching table IDs with short descriptions.
Request parameters for a specific table ID to discover available fields and values.
Ask the agent to import data from that table by providing parameter filters.
If a parameter is not provided, the agent uses * (all values) for that parameter.
The agent returns data formatted as an HTML table in the chat.
After import, ask the agent to draw charts, analyze the data, or export the data in supported formats such as CSV, JSON, TXT, DOCX, PPTX, and PDF.

Important Limitations #
The agent is a free test offering, and some imports are constrained by table size, API limits, and the agent response limits.
Some SSB tables are too large to download completely due to data size limits and platform constraints.
The SSB API and Microsoft may impose rate limits or practical limits on response sizes.
Agents should aim to respond within nine seconds, so long-running imports should show progress or warnings.
Availability, functionality, and maintenance are not guaranteed.
APIs, Data Sources, and Licensing #
The agent uses Statistics Norway PX-Web HTTP queries and follows SSB licensing and usage requirements.
SSB data and content are licensed under CC BY 4.0 unless a dataset or asset states otherwise.
When redistributing SSB content, attribute "Statistics Norway (SSB)" and include links to CC BY 4.0 and SSB's license page.
Some materials, such as photographs or datasets with personal or confidential information, may have separate rights or restrictions.
Not all tables can be downloaded in full; prefer focused filters and comply with SSB API usage restrictions.
Privacy #
This agent does not collect personal data.
The agent's purpose is to query Statistics Norway (SSB) PX-Web endpoints and present results inside Microsoft 365 Copilot.
The agent does not retain conversation content or user identifiers.
No persistent storage is used for imported data; results are presented within the chat.
Platform-level logging or retention may still apply under Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365 Copilot policies.
Some SSB datasets may contain personal or confidential information, so review dataset-specific licensing and notices before redistribution.
Terms of Use #
The agent is provided free of charge for testing and evaluation, AS-IS, with no warranty or SLA.
Availability, functionality, and maintenance are not guaranteed; the agent may be changed or withdrawn at any time.
You must comply with Statistics Norway (SSB) usage policies, API limits, and data access restrictions.
Do not attempt excessive data downloads or attempts to bypass platform or API limits.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, no liability is accepted for damages arising from use.
Use may require Microsoft 365 Copilot access or Azure pay-as-you-go resources, and users are responsible for any required licenses or charges.
Permissions #
This app may request the following permissions in Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365 Copilot.
Receive messages and data that you provide to the app.
Send messages and notifications.
Access profile details such as name, email address, company name, and preferred language.
Read messages in the team where the app is used.
Read messages in the current chat.
Maintain access to the team's data.
These permissions allow the app to understand user requests, return relevant results, respond in chat with data and status messages, and operate correctly in the Teams and Copilot context where it is installed.
